Classic Shallot Sauce (Lard) 80g

Our fried shallots simmered back into pure Taiwanese lard until they become a spoonable sauce. This is the jar most Taiwanese kitchens keep beside the stove: one spoon over plain rice, noodles or blanched greens and the meal is finished.

No artificial flavouring, no rancid oil taste, no preservatives, no plasticisers, no anti-oxidants, no trans fats. Slow-cooked in small batches.

Uses

Over plain rice, tossed through noodles, spooned over blanched greens or tofu, stirred into congee, or used as a base for braised minced pork.

Red shallots, pure lard, soy sauce, salt, sugar

Storage

Store at room temperature, away from damp, heat and direct sunlight. Contains no preservatives, so refrigeration after opening keeps it at its best.
